About our beginners retreats

Be guided through gentle meditations that can be practiced by anyone. They will help calm the mind, reduce stress, and give rise to an experience of inner peace and wellbeing.

Over three sessions, Gen Kelsang Ani, Buddhist nun and Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Brisbane will explain and guide the meditations. There are two breaks to enjoy a delicious morning tea and the opportunity to explore local cafes for lunch and connect with like minded people. Everyone welcome!

Meditations for a Clear Mind - Sat 23 Nov

Resident teacher Gen Kelsang Ani will guide us through three simple meditations that will help us to experience mental clarity and inner peace by meditating on our mind itself. The first meditation lays the foundation for meditating on the mind by helping to temporarily overcome physical appearances. The second introduces us to the clarity of our mind, and the third is a meditation on our root mind. Together they lead us on a voyage of exploration of our mind through which we can discover our own inner potential for lasting peace and happiness. All these meditations can be practised by anyone.

Gen Kelsang Ani

Our Teacher

The teacher of this workshop is Gen Kelsang Ani.  Gen Ani is Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Brisbane and teaches all the main classes and courses at the Centre. Gen Ani has been studying and practising Modern Kadampa Buddhism with Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for over 20 years. She teaches with warmth and compassion, making modern Buddhism accessible and applicable to all.

What to Expect

Over two sessions (each 1 1/4 hours long), we’ll learn how to reduce and eventually overcome our feelings of anxiety and worry. We’ll be inspired to incorporate meditation into our day and understand the benefits of doing this.

We sit in comfortable chairs. A delicious home-made morning tea will be served in the breaks to give you time to relax, absorb the teachings and to make new friends. Everyone is welcome.
