Through the practice of meditation we can develop and maintain a peaceful mind all the time. If our mind is peaceful all the time, we will be happy all the time. So, if we really wish for ourself and others to be happy all the time we must learn to practise meditation.

At this workshop Gen Ani will explain how to meditate and how to integrate our practice of meditation into our daily life. Through doing this we can reduce our stress, experience a calm, spacious feeling in the mind, and find many of our usual problems falling away.

Motivation: We do what we want to do. By appreciating and contemplating the many benefits of having a regular meditation practice, we’ll encouraged and come to enjoy greater inner peace and happiness every day of our life.

Preparation: Laying the foundation for effective meditation. Through some simple, practical preparations, we’ll create a solid foundation for success in our meditation practice.

Transformation: Meditation is a powerful tool for personal growth and profound inner transformation. Understand how to use meditation to effect this inner transformation and become the very best version of ourself.

So much of the stress and tension we normally experience comes from our mind, and many problems, including ill health, are caused or aggravated by this stress. Difficult situations will become easier to deal with, we’ll naturally feel warm and well-disposed towards other people, and our relationships with others will gradually improve.

Escape the stress and busyness of life and discover the peace of meditation for yourself. Be guided through simple meditations that relax the mind and body, leading to a deep experience of inner peace and contentment.

This retreat provides an excellent introduction to meditation and is a perfect break for those with a busy life. Take the opportunity to unwind, relax and gain a more positive perspective on life.

The retreat begins with dinner on Friday night and finishes with lunch on Sunday. There are plenty of opportunities to relax and unwind in the tranquil surroundings, taking in views of the Glass House Mountains. The retreat is catered with delicious vegetarian food, and includes accommodation. All you need to do is to relax and enjoy yourself. Booking is essential – please book early to ensure a place.

Venue

Glasshouse Mountains Ecolodge, 198 Barrs Road, Glass House Mountains, Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

The Ecolodge is located 70 kilometers north of Brisbane in the hinterland of the Sunshine Coast.

By car

Take exit 188 off the M1 and head along Steve Irwin Way for about 8.5km. Turn left onto Barrs Connection Road, and immediately left again into Barrs Road. Follow Barrs Road for 2.5km and the Ecolodge is on the righthand side of the road. There is ample parking onsite, however, carpooling is encouraged.

By Train

Trains run several times each morning and afternoon from Brisbane to Glasshouse Mountains station on the Nambour/Gympie North line. The Ecolodge is 3 km from the station and we will be running a pick-up and drop-off service from Glass House Mountains Train Station, which you can add at the time of booking.

Fees & Booking

Prices for the retreat vary depending upon which room is booked and whether you are single or sharing a room with a friend or a partner. There are a variety of different rooms available, please see the pictures below to see the range of rooms available to book.

Prices range from $456 – $610 for singles, for those sharing a room with a friend or couple, prices range from $328 – $405 ( prices are all-inclusive, further details on the booking form).

In these uncertain times, wisdom is increasingly important for our daily happiness. As our wisdom grows, our problems diminish. In the Perfection of Wisdom Sutras, Buddha gave special wisdom instructions which, if put into practice, have the power to give us the permanent peace of liberation and enlightenment.

This empowerment, taking place on Saturday 27 August, is a special ceremony and guided meditation in which we receive the inspiring blessings of the Great Mother Prajnaparamita, a female Buddha who is the embodiment of the Perfection of Wisdom. Through this we have the opportunity to develop higher levels of wisdom, ultimately attain enlightenment, and thus be able to benefit each and every living being directly every day.

The following day on Sunday 28 August Gen Kelsang Ani will guide a day of retreat on the practice of The Yoga of The Great Mother Prajnaparamita. This yoga is a training in spiritual paths through which we will control our negative states of mind and thus maintain a peaceful mind all the time, so that we can be happy all the time.
