🧘 Teacher: Andrew Monaghan

Through the practice of meditation we can develop and maintain a peaceful mind all the time. If our mind is peaceful all the time, we will be happy all the time. So, if we really wish for ourself and others to be happy all the time we must learn to practise meditation.

At this workshop Andrew will explain how to meditate and how to integrate our practice of meditation into our daily life. Through doing this we can reduce our stress, experience a calm, spacious feeling in the mind, and find many of our usual problems falling away.

What are the 3 easy steps?

Motivation: We do what we want to do. By appreciating and contemplating the many benefits of having a regular meditation practice, we’ll encouraged and come to enjoy greater inner peace and happiness every day of our life.

Preparation: Laying the foundation for effective meditation. Through some simple, practical preparations, we’ll create a solid foundation for success in our meditation practice.

Transformation: Meditation is a powerful tool for personal growth and profound inner transformation. Understand how to use meditation to effect this inner transformation and become the very best version of ourself.

Silencing the Inner Critic

📅  Sat 29 Oct

🕙 10am – 2.30pm | Doors open 9.30am |

💲 Book here: $65 (includes lunch)

🧘 Teacher: Visiting Teacher Gen Kelsang Lhachog.

Gen Kelsang Lhachog is the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Centre Sydney. She is an Australian Buddhist nun who has been studying and practising Kadampa Buddhism with Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for over 25 years. Gen Lhachog is an inspiring example of Modern Buddhism in practice. She presents Buddha’s teachings with beautiful clarity, wisdom and sincerity, skillfully guiding people from all walks of life to find inner peace and lasting happiness.

We all have an unhelpful habit of being self critical that not only disturbs our mental peace but actually holds us back from being the person we want to be. Far from being useful, our inner critic can prevent us from living the life we really want to live.

Learn to recognise this inner critic as it operates in your life and relationships, and discover through meditation how to let go of this painful habit.

Through reflecting with wisdom you can skillfully develop the inner qualities that build true self confidence and enable you to realise your full potential.

At this morning workshop, visiting Teacher and Buddhist nun Gen Kelsang Lhachog will guide us in practical and effective meditations and ways of thinking – drawn from Buddha’s teachings – that enable us to become happier, more content and comfortable in our life.
