Kadampa Meditation Center Brisbane is dedicated to bringing peace and happiness to the people of Brisbane and Queensland.

We aim to teach people how to develop peaceful, positive states of mind, giving practical tools to remove suffering from their lives and transform the difficulties of everyday life into opportunities for personal growth and transformation.

Our weekly meditation classes in Spring Hill include 2 guided meditations and a teaching drawing on practical Buddhist wisdom.

The classes are self-contained so you can join anytime. No experience needed. Everyone is welcome.

We have many fears that limit our lives and cause us anxiety. Through correctly understanding the source of these fears, we can gradually control and eventually overcome them. We can build within ourselves the inner protection of spiritual experience that has the power to directly protect us from painful feelings such as anxiety or worry. We all have the potential to develop this, all we need to do is gain familiarity with qualified spiritual practices that give us the confidence to face full on whatever life brings.

Simply Meditate

Be guided through simple meditations that give rise to an experience of mental peace and wellbeing.

Experience the benefits of meditation for yourself through these practical classes that emphasise guided meditation. Each week we focus on a different meditation, cycling through a series of three topics:

Reduce stress: Relax your body and mind with guided meditations that use mindfulness of the breath to give rise to a spacious and peaceful feeling, and an experience of contentment and wellbeing.

Clarity of mind: Explore three profound meditations on the nature of the mind. Generate an experience of mental clarity that will last beyond your meditation and enable you to maintain a flexible and light mind.

Improve relationships: Strengthen your good heart, kindness and compassion with three meditations that bring peace and harmony to your relationships with others – at work and at home.

Each class is self-contained and includes practical advice on how to improve your concentration and gain a deep experience of meditation.

Meditation and Buddhism for Kids

These classes include simple Buddhist teachings and meditations that revolve around children’s everyday experiences. They are designed to help them see things in a way that makes them calmer and happier. Classes also include a craft activity based on that day’s topic. In these classes, children learn simple meditations, as well as methods to calm their minds and deal with negative feelings. Suggested age range is 5-11 years. Children are to be accompanied by an adult. Booking is required.
