Weekly Meditation Classes in Brisbane

We group our teachings into topics over a few weeks. Our current topic is: Freedom From Attachment & Craving

Do you find yourself obsessively longing for things, driven by craving and discontentment to pursue things you hope with bring you happiness, but just don’t really do it?  Are you disappointed with life, constantly seeking, but not finding the enjoyment and fulfilment you crave? It’s all-too-common to have these experiences which prevent us from really enjoying and feeling satisfied with our lives.

Thankfully, life doesn’t have to be like this.  By understanding what’s causing these experiences and gradually working to reduce and eliminate these causes, your whole experience of daily life will improve;  you’ll experience contentment, satisfaction and real happiness in your lives.

Buddha’s teachings explain how, due to our uncontrolled desire, also known as attachment, in our pursuit of happiness we often bring suffering upon ourselves and in striving to avoid suffering we often increase it.  Through understanding your desires and gradually informing them with wisdom, you’ll be able to reverse this situation;  by freeing yourself from attachment and the craving it gives rise to, you’ll discover real contentment, satisfaction and happiness in your life.

In these classes you’ll learn:

  • to distinguish between desire and uncontrolled desire, also, known as attachment;
  • how attachment gives rise to craving, discontentment, dissatisfaction and disappointment;
  • how to begin the process of gaining freedom.

Whilst it’s helpful to attend every class in a topic, each class is stand alone so you can come any week. You’ll learn a helpful meditation each week that you can practice at home.  Drop in any week.
