Meditation Workshop – Kadampa Meditation Centre Brisbane

Reconnect with Yourself and Others

Have you ever felt that you’ve lost a sense of connection — with the people in your life, or even with yourself? That quiet feeling of who you really are can sometimes feel distant or out of reach.

Why We Feel Disconnected in Modern Life

Life moves fast. Between work, family, screens, and the constant buzz of busyness, it’s easy to lose touch — not just with others, but with yourself.
Before long, you may find yourself going through the motions, not quite flourishing or really living.

A Gentle Way Back to Connection

You’re not alone in feeling this way, and it doesn’t have to stay this way.
With the right understanding and a little practice, it’s possible to rebuild a genuine sense of closeness — both with others and within your own heart.

Discover Practical Buddhist Wisdom for Daily Life

In this meditation workshop, based on time-tested Buddhist teachings, we’ll explore the thought patterns that create disconnectedness — and learn practical, realistic ways to change them.
These are solutions you can begin using straight away, and continue developing in your daily life.

What You’ll Learn in This Workshop

During the day, you’ll discover how to:

  • Let go of the mental noise that hides your true nature
  • Recognise habits that prevent you from living authentically
  • Bridge the gap between yourself and others — even when life feels very different
  • Shift from isolation to a sense of gratitude, connection, and belonging

What to Expect on the Day

The workshop includes guided meditations, gentle teachings, and time to reflect and connect with others.

A Day to Feel More Like Yourself Again

If you’re ready to feel a little closer to yourself and the people in your life — more contented, more connected — this day offers something genuinely useful:
warm, practical Buddhist wisdom that speaks directly to the way we live today, and that you can carry with you long after the workshop ends.

FAQs About the Feeling More Connected Meditation Workshop in Brisbane

Do I need any experience with meditation to attend?

Not at all. This workshop is suitable for everyone — whether you’re completely new to meditation or already have some experience. Everything is explained clearly, and the guided meditations are simple to follow.

What do you mean by “Buddhist wisdom”? Is this a religious event?

The teachings come from the Buddhist tradition, but they are presented in a practical and accessible way that anyone can benefit from. You don’t need to be Buddhist, and there’s no expectation to adopt any beliefs — just take what you find helpful.

I feel very busy and distracted — will I be able to meditate?

Yes. Many people feel this way, especially at the moment. The workshop is designed to help you gently settle your mind, step by step. Even a small experience of inner stillness can make a big difference.

What actually happens during the workshop?

The day is divided into sessions that include gentle teachings, guided meditation, and time to reflect. There are also breaks where you can relax, enjoy morning tea, and connect with others if you wish.

Will I have to share or talk with others?

No. Everything is optional. You’re welcome to simply listen and take part quietly. There may be opportunities to connect with others during breaks, but there’s no pressure to do so.

What should I bring or wear?

There’s nothing special you need to bring. Just wear comfortable clothes. We provide chairs and cushions, and morning tea is included.

What kind of benefit can I expect from this workshop?

People often leave with a clearer, calmer mind and a more positive way of relating to themselves and others. Even a single day can help you feel more grounded, more connected, and better equipped to handle daily life.

What to Expect

The day is designed to feel calm, spacious, and easy to engage with — especially if life has been feeling busy or a little disconnected.

Across three relaxed one-hour sessions, we’ll explore practical Buddhist teachings and guided meditations that help you gently reconnect — with yourself, and with a deeper sense of clarity and meaning in your life. Each session includes simple ways to reflect and apply what you’re learning in a way that feels natural and personal. There’s nothing to “get right” — just listen, explore, and take what’s helpful.

Between sessions, there’s time to pause, enjoy morning tea, and connect with others in a relaxed, unforced way. Many people find these quiet moments of connection just as meaningful as the teachings themselves. You’re welcome to bring your own lunch or visit one of the nearby cafés.

The workshop is held in our peaceful, air-conditioned meditation space, with comfortable chairs provided (or cushions if you prefer). No experience is needed, and there’s nothing you need to bring — simply come as you are, and give yourself the opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and feel more like yourself again.
