Meditations for Relaxation - Sat 13 July

Buddhist teacher Jo Whatley will guide us through three simple meditations that are all forms of breathing meditation that help to calm the mind, reduce stress, and give rise to an experience of inner peace and wellbeing. The first meditation is a basic breathing meditation that helps to disengage the mind from the busyness of everyday life and create a special feeling of inner peace. The second combines mindfulness of the breath with visualisation, or creative imagination, and leads to a deep feeling of inner calm and purity. The third is a special breathing meditation that combines mindfulness of the breath with the recitation of mantra.

On Saturday 20 July, Buddhist nun, Kelsang Khandro will answer these and many more questions.  By attending this workshop you’ll understand who Buddha was, the fundamentals of what he taught and how we can apply his wisdom to our busy modern life.  Through this we too can attain inner peace and happiness all of the time and become an example for others to want to do the same.

In this workshop you will:

  • learn who Buddha was and what he taught;
  • receive practical advice for how to apply his teachings in a modern world; and
  • be guided in some meditations that we can do ourself to pacify our mind and develop the inner peace that we long for.
