A Meditation Workshop for Resilience, Acceptance and Peace of Mind

Do you ever feel weak or powerless when life becomes difficult? As though you are constantly trying to hold everything together, but the stress, conflict and pressure of daily life keep wearing you down?

When times are tough, it is easy to feel as if all our energy is being used just to get through the day. We may find ourselves “hanging on by a thread”, overwhelmed by responsibilities, uncertainty, other people’s behaviour, or situations we simply cannot control.

Although we cannot completely avoid difficult and unpleasant circumstances, we can learn to respond to them in a calmer, wiser and more constructive way.

In this practical meditation workshop, Andrew Monaghan will explain how Buddhist wisdom helps us develop genuine inner strength — a resilient, peaceful mind that can patiently endure difficulties without becoming overwhelmed by them.

Learn How to Stay Peaceful When Things Don’t Go to Plan

Much of our mental suffering comes from struggling against the things we cannot change. When life does not unfold the way we hoped, our mind can easily become tense, resistant and discouraged.

Buddha’s teachings on patient acceptance offer a powerful solution. Acceptance does not mean giving up, becoming passive, or pretending that everything is okay. It means learning to meet life realistically, with a calm and open mind, so that we can deal with our outer problems without creating additional inner pain.

Through understanding and practising acceptance, we can begin to transform everyday difficulties into opportunities for growth, wisdom and emotional strength.

What You’ll Learn in This Workshop

In this workshop, you will learn how to:

  • Identify your real problems
  • Distance yourself from destructive mental habits
  • Respond to difficulties more constructively
  • Remain peaceful when things do not go to plan
  • Use daily challenges to build inner resilience
  • Ease anxiety and mental tension through meditation
  • Find value and opportunities for growth in difficult times

By applying these teachings in daily life, we can gradually free our mind from negativity and discover a deeper confidence — the inner strength to meet life’s challenges without losing our peace.

This workshop is designed to feel calm, practical and easy to engage with — especially if life has been feeling stressful, uncertain or overwhelming.

Across three relaxed one-hour sessions, Andrew will share practical Buddhist teachings and guide meditations that help you understand how to meet difficulties with greater patience, clarity and inner strength. You’ll explore how to identify the real source of your problems, let go of unhelpful mental habits, and respond to life’s challenges in a more peaceful and constructive way.

Each session includes simple ways to reflect on the teachings and apply them to your own life. There is nothing to “get right” — just listen, explore, and take away what feels helpful and meaningful for you.

Between sessions, there will be time to pause, enjoy morning tea, and connect with others in a relaxed, unforced way. You are welcome to bring your own lunch or visit one of the nearby cafés.

The workshop is held in our peaceful, air-conditioned meditation space, with comfortable chairs provided, or cushions if you prefer. No experience is needed, and there is nothing you need to bring — simply come as you are and give yourself the opportunity to slow down, gather your strength, and discover a more peaceful way to meet life’s difficulties.
