Meditation & Buddhism in Spring Hill

weekly general program class

How to Understand Your Mind

We often say “My mind, my mind” but if someone asks us “What is your mind?” we would be hard pushed to answer. In this series of classes, we will explore Buddhist insights into the nature and function of the mind and learn how to use the creative power of our mind to create the experiences we wish for.

As happiness and suffering are states of mind, if we are to find the happiness we seek an understanding of our mind is essential. Through learning how our mind works, we can begin to bring our mind under control, and in this way improve the quality of our life, both now and in the future.

Sep 22 & 23:  What is the mind?
Sep 29 & 30:  The creative power of the mind
Oct 6 & 7:  Why we feel how we feel
Oct 13 & 14:  A positive intention

Create the World You Want

Take a practical look at karma, and understand how it creates our experiences. Understand how to avoid negative karma, how to accumulate good karma and how to purify the negative karma we’ve created in the past.

Wednesdays: Oct 20 • 27 • Nov 3 • 10

Thursdays: Oct 21 • 28 • Nov 4 • 11

Love, Desire, Attachment

To enjoy good relationships, it is essential that we learn to distinguish between love and attachment. While love brings only happiness, attachment brings only problems and suffering such as craving, jealousy,
dependence and conflict.

Wednesdays: Nov 17 • 24 • Dec 1 • 8

Thursdays: Nov 18 • 25 • Dec 2 • 9

What to expect at a class

Each week, a different aspect of meditation and Buddhism is explained. Classes are self-contained so you can come along any week. No experience is necessary, classes are suitable for beginners and experienced meditators alike. Everyone is welcome.

These classes are available to book as a online video for you to watch at home. Each video class is available for one week after it is published giving you the flexibility to watch at a time that suits you.
