North Lakes

In each class a different aspect of meditation and Buddhism is explained. The classes are self-contained so you can drop in any week. There is no need to book or bring anything. Classes begin with a simple guided breathing meditation followed by a teaching and a second guided meditation based on the topic. There is also an opportunity for discussion, followed by refreshments.

No meditation experience is necessary, classes are suitable for beginners and experienced meditators. Everyone is welcome.

The class is located in Meeting Room 1, North Lakes Community Centre (in the Library Building), 10 The Corso, North Lakes.


The cost of the class is $15. There is no need to book. EFTPOS facilities are available.

Overcoming Negative Emotions

Course Description

Whether we enjoy our life or not, largely depends upon our state of mind. When negative emotions and thoughts arise it is impossible to be truly happy. In this five-week series of classes we will learn meditation techniques for overcoming these negative emotions, so that we can always enjoy inner peace and thrive in our life.

Advice for a Happy Life

Course Description

Through the centuries many great Buddhist masters discovered a deep inner peace through meditation. In this four-week series of classes learn about their advice for living a happy and fulfilling life. Through applying these simple practical tips for enlightened living we can unlock our true potential.

The teacher of this class is Andy Monaghan. Andy has been studying Buddhist meditation for over 8 years. He teaches with sincerity and humour, drawing on his own experience to help people living busy, modern lives learn how to cultivate happiness from within.
