If we want to be truly happy we need to work with our mind, gradually transforming it into love, compassion, and wisdom. On this course, Gen-la Dekyong will give teachings on how we can use meditation and reliance to transform our mind into these powerful positive states. This course will include transmission and commentary to the ‘Request to the Lord of all Lineages’ prayer which we can use to help us develop these states of mind that bring us closer to the peace and happiness experienced by all the enlightened beings.

Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong is the General Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition and a highly experienced international teacher of Buddhism. She has been a student of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for over 35 years, during which time she has inspired thousands of people around the world through her sincere reliance on her Spiritual Guide, taking his teachings to heart and putting them into practice in every aspect of her life. Gen-la Dekyong will teach the weekend course.

Gen Kelsang Rabten is the National Spiritual Director for Kadampa Buddhism in Australia, New Zealand, and South East Asia. He has trained under the guidance of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for more than 25 years. His deep faith in Buddha’s teachings and the sincerity of his practice inspire many people to embark on a meaningful and rich spiritual life. Gen Rabten will guide the meditations on the weekend course.


The cost for this course is $150 and is only available to be booked for the whole weekend. The course fee includes morning and afternoon tea. Lunch can be purchased in one of the many cafes in the Spring Hill area.

By train

Catch any train to Central station. From Central station walk 2 blocks north on Upper Edward St (4 min walk).

By bus

Catch any bus to Anzac Square Stop 36 (Adelaide St). Walk across the Square to Upper Edward St, then walk north for 2 blocks (8 min walk).

Alternatively, catch the Spring Hill Loop bus (Number 30) from any stop around the city getting off at Stop 178, Leichhardt.

Cross the road diagonally to reach the Centre. 

NB: The Spring Hill Loop only operates Mon - Fri from 8.10am - 6.05pm. Buses go every 10 mintes between these times.

From Brisbane Airport

By car

It is a 20 minute drive from Brisbane Airport to Kadampa Meditation Centre Brisbane.

NB: There is no parking at Kadampa Meditation Centre Brisbane

By airtrain

The Airtrain is a quick and easy option for getting to and from the airport. Take the Airtrain from the Pedestrian Skywalk at the Airport to Central Station, which is a 20 minute ride. Train services run every 15 minutes during peak times and every 30 minutes during off-peak periods. Services run from 6am to 10pm.

You can purchase tickets at the Airtrain desks in each of the Terminals, or at the Airtrain stations.  Airtrain also offers great savings for booking online and in advance. Tickets cost $18.50 one way, with up to an extra $2.70 discount for booking online.

At the International Terminal: take the travellator or lift to Level 3 of the Terminal building and follow the signs to the station.

From the Domestic Terminal: make your way out to the front of the building and take the Skywalk across to the station.

Taxis are available 24/7 from sheltered ranks right outside the Domestic and International Terminals. This ride takes approximately 20 minutes, with fares ranging from $45-55.
